The “Varsha Geet” programme was successfully organized by the Geet Sangeet Dhara at Dharmendrasinhji Arts College, Rajkot. on 01/09/2025 in the college auditorium. The event was a musical celebration of the monsoon season, showcasing the rich tradition of Gujarati rain songs (Varsha Geet), which are deeply rooted in the cultural and poetic heritage of Gujarat. The main objective of the “Varsha Geet” event was to revive and promote traditional Gujarati folk and literary songs that celebrate the beauty, joy, and emotions associated with the rainy season. It aimed to create awareness among students about the cultural significance of rain songs in Gujarati literature and music. The event began with a brief introduction by the compere, explaining the importance of rain in rural and agrarian life, and how it has inspired countless songs in Gujarati folklore. The “Varsha Geet” programme was a memorable and melodious event that successfully brought alive the spirit of monsoon through the lens of Gujarati musical traditions. It provided a platform for students to showcase their talent and fostered a deeper connection with their cultural roots. Entire programme planed and conduct by Saptdhara- Geet, sangeet and Nrityadhara Coordinators Dr. Hansa Gujariya ma’am and, Dr. Maheshwari Raviya ma’am.
