Workshop Participation Report Title: Capacity Building Workshop Date: June 30, 2025 Venue: Department of Statistics, Saurashtra University, Rajkot Organized by: Saurashtra University Time: 10:30 AM onwards --- Overview: A Capacity Building Workshop was organized at the Department of Statistics, Saurashtra University, Rajkot on June 30, 2025. The workshop aimed to spread awareness and understanding regarding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and associated Government Schemes. The session was led by Mr. Mitash Vachher, Innovation Fellow, Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, Government of India. --- Session Highlights: Topic Covered: “Intellectual Property Rights & Government Schemes on IPR” Speaker: Mr. Mitash Vachher Innovation Fellow, MoE’s Innovation Cell, Govt. of India Content Overview: The session covered the significance of Intellectual Property in the innovation ecosystem, the process of patent filing, the role of educational institutions, and various government initiatives available to support IPR awareness and facilitation. Visual Aids: The speaker used informative presentation slides covering the evolution of intellectual property, types of IP, and a roadmap to obtain them. --- Participation: From our institution, the following faculty members actively participated: 1. Dr. Jagat Teraiya Co-ordinator, Innovation Club 2. Dr. Tripti Gajera Co-ordinator, EDP (Entrepreneurship Development Programme) Both faculty members attended the workshop to enrich their knowledge and further strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives on campus. --- Conclusion: The workshop proved to be a highly informative and enriching session for all attendees. It provided clarity on the importance of IPR in the innovation journey and how institutions can leverage government support for fostering innovation culture. The participation of our faculty members reflects our institution’s commitment to building a strong innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
