Planning a trip is essential for the subject of geography field, which is why today the Geography Department of the college here organized an educational tour to Pradyuman Park and Bhichari hilly region on the outskirts of Rajkot. Usually, the objectives of an educational tour have multiple objectives such as making the students understand about rural life, economic aspects and environment etc. The objectives of this tour were to make the students understand about the landscape, rural life, agricultural patterns, environment, water body (Lal Pari Lake) biodiversity and wild animals of the mountainous regions in the eastern part of Rajkot and the area around Pradyuman Park. Bhichhari Hills: The tour started early in the morning from Bhichari hill. First of all, the students had a darshan of Bhichari Mata. After that, while sitting on the hill and enjoying the pleasant breeze, an understanding of the structure of the surrounding geographical region, land use, rural environment, economic activities, etc. was given. Along with this, the professors here gave an understanding of how the geographical structure of central Saurashtra including Bhichari hill was formed due to an extensive volcanic eruption in the Cretaceous period (145 million to 66 million years ago). Along with this, a direct understanding of the rocks around Bhichari formed from various lava deposits was given. After that, the students left for lunch. Where all the group had lunch. Pradyuman Park Zoo: In the afternoon, the students visited Rajkot Zoo (Pradyuman Park). Where the zoologist there gave the students an initial understanding of the animals of the zoo, the hospital and what to observe during the observation in the zoo. After that, the students visited the zoo. Which was completed in the evening. Thus, the tour was successfully completed. The entire educational tour was done under the guidance of Dr. S. R. Bhardwaj. Prof. Riteshkumar P. Patel and Prof. Jayesh J. Valani accompanied the students throughout the tour and guided them.
