Celebrating Geography Day

Geography Day was celebrated on January 17 by the Geography Department of Dharmendrasinghji Arts College. However, this day is usually celebrated on January 14. But because this day is a government public holiday and so that the students can celebrate this day well, it was celebrated on 17th January at Bhugool Bhavan. As part of the celebration of this day, Chairman of Geography department Dr. S. R. Bhardwaj Sir delivered a lecture. The Geography Day program was conducted by Professor Patel Riteshkumar, and at the end of this program, Professor J. J. Valani thanked everyone. The day celebrated by the Government of India is 'National Geography Day' which aims to remove the fear of the common people about this geography and people understand its importance. Geography... is a popular subject for most of the people in school and college life, but an equally fascinating subject. This day is celebrated on Makar Sankranti i.e. 14 January. Sankranti holds great significance in the Indian calendar as the Sun begins its journey from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern Hemisphere. Geography is a very important subject in human life. Many aspects of daily life are associated with this geography. Makarasankrant festival is a representation of it. There are different branches of geography. Like Political Geography, Population Geography, Meteorology, Economic Geography, Military Geography etc.
