On 2nd August 2022, the Department of English organized an interesting session ‘In Memory of Tagore’. As The death Anniversary of Tagore falls in the month of August, the apartments arranged the whole session on 2nd August. Many students of the English Department participated in the program. Modhvadiya Yuvraj Sem 5 gave an introduction of Tagore and his life. Bhagat Piyush from Sem 3 told a wonderful short story of Tagore ‘Beggar’. Sem 3 Student Ramodia Somaiya gave a gripping speech on Tagore while Chauhan Prayag gave an interesting speech about Tagore’s some famous short stories. The whole program was compèred by Sem 3 student Paik Shivli. Afterwards, the Head of the English Department Dr. Krishna D. Daiya recited the famous poem of Tagore ‘Where the mind is without fear’ from Gitanjali and explained the profound vision of Tagore on freedom. At last, Dr. Kalyani Raval congratulated all the participants and informed the students about Tagore and Yeats and their bond. She also thanked the principal Dr. A. S. Rathore and HOD Dr. Krishna Daiya for the program.
