A “One Week Bridge Course” was organized by the Department of Geography of Dharmendrasinghji Arts College for the students who took admission in the first year Bachelor of Arts in the academic year 2022-23. Among the various purposes of organizing this course, students coming from the school premises can easily connect with the geography course running at the college level, to develop the basic knowledge of geography in the students and the students can easily adapt to the college environment. Students of Geography (Core, Elective-1 and Elective-2) joined this course. On the first day of the program, Head of Department of Geography and Prof. Dr. S. R. Bharadwaj started by giving a complete outline of the welcome program to the students. In different sessions of the programmed, an introductory understanding of various branches of geography like physical geography, geological science, climatology, oceanography, human geography, regional geography (with reference to India and Gujarat) etc. was given by Prof. Patel Ritesh Kumar and Prof. Jayesh Valani, and how these subjects are connected to humans, an understanding was given. On the last day of the completion of this one-week program, oral test and MCQ test of the students were conducted in which there was a very good response from the students.
